The cure for pancreatic cancer is a rarity. However, the longevity of life can be increased by proper diagnosis. The early the cancer has been detected, that better the chances of curing will be. Hence, it all depends upon the stage of cancer in which the patient is in. Giving into the fact that it is the most deadliest of all cancers, curing it would be a difficult task. The situation is better now as previously there was no cure for this disease. The survival period given is five years in case of patients, who are diagnosed during stage 1. In contrast, it has been observed that only one percent of all patients with metastatic cancer in stage 4 will live for five years more after diagnosis. This is the reason why it's been told that early detection will increase the survival chances.
Another case of concern is recurrent pancreatic cancer. This form is termed so because it occurs again even after removing completely from the body. Curing this form of cancer is impossible. The only positive outcome will be only then when the exact cause of this type of pancreatic cancer is determined. As of now, radiation therapy and a combination of drugs are administered upon patient's body in order to reduce the intensity of the cancer and increasing cancer survival chances. The future is bright for patients suffering from pancreatic cancer as a permanent cure could expected in the form of stem cells.
